Starting A Band

Sergeant Fu

Pop

One, two, three, four!

Bounce, baby, across the floor

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

You rock your hips, you rock your hips a little more

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

Put both of your hands up in the air

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

And keep them there, keep them there, keep them there

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

Chorus

You remind me of Stacy's mom

Yeah, baby, 'cause you got it going on

And you are so fine

Baby, have I ever told you I'm starting a band

And one day when we're famous

Maybe, baby, then you'll date me

And you are so fine

Baby, have I ever told you I'm starting a band

And one day when we're famous

Maybe, baby, then you'll date me

Rocking out at our very own show

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

I saw you dancing in the very front row

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

Tease me, please me, throw a little wink at me

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

You got the mojo, you're like my last Rolo

Pump it up, ba ba dap, ba ba da

You remind me of Lucy Liu

Your sex appeal is shooting me through the roof

And you are so fine

Baby, have you seen and noticed I play a band

Now we're a little famous

Maybe, baby, now you'll date me

And you are so fine

Baby, have you seen and noticed I play a band

Now we're a little famous

Maybe, baby, now you'll date me

Now you'll date me

I want you in a birthday cake with chocolate sprinkles on your face two

Feathers in your hair with strawberry edible underwear and who

Would ever believe that you come with a side platter of Oreo Cheesecake, I’m Awake!

Hey, let's light that cake and never ever baby gonna lie to you

'Cause you're looking so fine in your birthday with sweet champaigne all over me

And you got me feeling so dead sexy. wanna lick you up, wanna lick you down

Wanna turn your frown right upside down, girl

You make me feel like Elvis

And now you're sitting in my hotel room

Oh, baby, you're the one that I want it from

You are so fine

Baby, have I ever told you I'm big in Japan

Now I'm so freaking famous

Maybe, baby, you wanna date me

And you are so fine

Baby, now that I see you notice, so come to Japan

So we can be together

Maybe, baby, now we're dating

Now we're dating

Now we're dating

Sergeant Fu

Pop

Sergeant Fu is more than a comeback. It’s a continuation. Born from a love of feel-good pop-rock and shared experiences, Sergeant Fu has always been about bringing people together through music. After years apart, lifelong friends Matthew Marinus and Ryno Zeelie return with renewed purpose, fresh perspective, and the same infectious energy that started it all. This isn’t about reliving the past. It’s about creating music that reminds people to feel, connect, and enjoy the moment. Matthew Marinus is a songwriter, filmmaker, musician, and Creative Director. A former touring drummer with We Will Rock You and member of The Graeme Watkins Project, he now co-directs Stageworx Performing Arts School, where he is passionate about developing the next generation of South African performers through world-class arts education and creative storytelling. Ryno Zeelie is a producer, guitarist, leadership coach, and learning designer. A former music producer and session guitarist who performed on stages including Idols and The Voice, and a member of The Graeme Watkins Project, he now helps individuals and organisations unlock human potential while continuing to create music through projects like Inhale Xhale. Together, Sergeant Fu represents the meeting point between creativity, friendship, and purpose. Because sometimes the best ideas don’t disappear. They simply wait for the right time to be heard again.
